90s

  • ‘In the spring of 1990, a change occurred at the Tbilisi Hippodrome: private horses and their owners began to appear. Initially, there were only a few, but within two to three months, this news had spread so widely that one of the stables was filled with private horses. The Hippodrome became a popular meeting place and a spot to spend days in good weather.

It turned out that 1990 was the last major racing year, with amazing horses brought in from Central Asia and Russia. Several of these horses remained at the Hippodrome, purchased by our friends.

This exhibition is dedicated to those horses and the hippodrome of those days.’
